AHOM: [ŭ-hōm] n. "The philosophy of duality in the individual self. The balance of two opposites." Founders Ann Jones and Shannon LuQuire are not only best friends and co-workers, but true opposites. Friends call them "yin and yang" and it's more unusual to see them by themselves than together. With all that being said, there is a mutual love of all things design so when an opportunity presented itself to start a design business together, it was a no-brainer. The philosophy of "AHOM" as well as a play on "a home" was perfect for them, so AHOM Interiors was created.

IN BALD HEAD ISLAND, NC
The casual interior of this beach home in Bald Head Island, NC is perfect for a growing family. With seven grandchildren coming off the beach with sandy feet and wet suits, the home needed to be easy to clean, have durable, yet relaxed fabrics and take advantage of the natural light. We brought in a family of blues to reflect the true coastal feel of this favorite getaway.

When a dear friend decided to add bar owner to his resume, he needed someone else who could see the potential of a vacated bar that wasn't left in desirable shape. Knowing the downtown space had good bones, Shannon and Ann jumped at the opportunity to get to work on design plans. The end result is now a local favorite. Boasting indoor and outdoor seating, The Flying Fox features exposed brick, custom wood bar and granite countertops, dark green walls, leather seating, stained concrete floors and a collection of artwork that together provides an elevated pub experience.

This beach home was 17 years in the making before a purchase was finally made. We worked closely with our sister company at Small Batch to select linens, bar and glassware, art and accessories to complement the new console, lighting, barstools, dining table and chairs that we also sourced. Sofas and club chairs were given new life with new pillows and upholstery.

Update original 1980 bathroom
Utilize existing space, gut everything
Classic faucets, hardware; clean lines
The original bathroom and closet area included 9 swinging doors in a relatively small space. Very choppy floorplan with outdated cabinets, countertops, hardware and floors. Total renovation provides luxe bath with walk-in closets for two; individual vanities, wallpaper and updated faucets, lighting and hardware.

Design and renovate interior space of downtown bar to completely transform the look and feel of previous business. Selection of paint, lighting, floors, furniture, countertops, artwork and accessories.
